What backup software should I use for backup to an external hard drive for Windows 7?
I bought a 2 TB Western Digital external hard drive and I want more features in a software than using the Windows Backup Utility. I researched for an actual backup software program and came across Acronis True Image Home 2011 and ended up buying it from amazon.com. After re-reading the 10 1-star reviews compared to the 12 5-star reviews, I’m pretty worried as to screwing up my machine and I’m thinking of returng it – before even installing it! It seems like 2011 is a crappier version than it’s hit 2009 version…I’m at my wits end. All I really want to do is backup all my files, be able to delete specific files within the external hard drive, specify which files to backup, and create a system image and restore points on the external hard drive. Please, if anyone could, list the best WINDOWS 7 backup software (for PAYWARE) and for FREEWARE that you like.

whats wrong with the windows one? from what it sounds like, it will basically do exactly what you want.
