painting problem in my little girls bedroom?
I painted my child’s bedroom about 18 months ago and left the original paint behind the wardrobe as it didn’t show and I couldn’t move it. I have just bought her some new bedroom furniture and this wardrobe is slimmer than the old one, so I now have some of the old paint on show. I went to paint over this with the new paint colour but it’s not blending in at all, even though I’ve got exactly the same colour as I used 18 months ago. The old colour paint just won’t go away however many layers I put over it. I just want my child’s room to look perfect and cant understand why this is happening.
The reason could be different why:
1. Paint color could be the same, but what about manufacture?
2. Is the shine is the same? If new is eggshell, semi-gloss and old one was flat, you will see a big difference between two of them.
3. Did you use the same kind ( thickness, material made from) of roll to roll pain on the wall? Or did you use a paintbrush?
The best way to fix this I would say, to paint all wall in color you selected. Before you paint wait for new paint (the peace that you were trying to paint) to dry for at least 24 hours. Since you put a lot of layers of new paint check the levels, if wall is even. If not sand before painting. Go with dump sponge to take off flacks left from sending. Make sure wall is clean, dry, even before applying new paint.
