What kind of damage if I dont wear my brace?
I had an ACL replacement 2 1/2 weeks ago. I had a full leg brace for a week and 1/2 and now I have a smaller brace. I was wondering; what kind of damage can I do if I dont wear it 100% of the time? I only don’t wear it if Im laying on the couch and just have to go to the kitchen (the next room) and back. I walk with a cane if I dont have the brace on. Just wondering.
Hey there, I’ve torn my ACL 2ce in the past 4 years playing football, this year I’m a senior and actually playing on a torn acl with a brace so I know what you’re going through and right off the bat I sympathize with you. But to answer your question you will do ZERO damage on your knee if you never wear a brace again. The majority of knee specialists do not give braces when they complete the surgery and want it to be free and on its own weight. Just becareful when you walk and where you step, get it more flexible and get the swelling down it will hurt less, I put it in a sleeve personally to keep the swelling down but a brace is not needed at all just be careful
