Fulton Hand planes.?
I own a transitional hand plane (actually I own many hand planes) however the one in question is stamped fulton on the blade and that is the only markings on it at all. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I can find out when it was made. The plane is a smothing plane with a lateral adjustment. There is a wooden knob on the front and a standard style grip handle on the rear the sole is approxamately 10 inches long and about 3 inches wide. the adjusting nut is a knurled nut just forward of the grip. I am not trying to sell this as I use hand tools almost exclusively to build furniture. As I said earlier I have many other hand planes but this is the first one made by fulton.
Try looking for similar planes at www.patented-antiques.com and see if you can find what you are looking for. I personally seen several Fulton brand planes on that site. Good luck !
